On Sunday, September 24, the Flying Eagles Women’s Tennis Team members participated in the Pfeiffer Invitational Women’s Tennis Tournament in Misenheimer, NC. In addition to Southwest, other teams participating in the tournament included: Pfeiffer University, Johnson and Wales University from Charlotte, and Agnes Scott College from Atlanta. Winning matches in doubles included Dannah Saylor and Ava Deckard in the no. 1 bracket and Naomi Shortt and Bella Ashby in the no. 2 doubles bracket. Shortt and Ashby won both their doubles matches. Naomi Shortt made it to the finals of the no. 3 seed singles competition. Madison Robinette, new to the sport of tennis, also gained some great experience playing in two singles matches. Coach Trivette is extremely proud of the ladies, not only for how they played and improved, but also for how they represented themselves and SWCC. Go Eagles!

On Monday, April 29th, the Flying Eagles tennis team traveled to Johnson and Wales in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Wildcats prevailed, but winning for Southwest was Daniel Mallory. Playing other close matches were Paul Vencill and Braydon Watson-Jones. Following the match the team had a banquet, where each team member was given awards for their contributions to the team.
