Cedar Bluff, Va- The Flying Eagles are set to soar into an exciting 2025 softball season under the leadership of Head Coach Dr. Runie Mensche, who begins his inaugural campaign at the helm. Coach Mensche has unveiled a packed 46-game schedule that will test his squad early with 16 consecutive road games before they settle in for the home stretch of the season.
Opening Road Challenges
The Flying Eagles kick off their season on February 15th with a showdown against Patrick & Henry Community College. This marks the first of five non-region opponents the team will face before diving into Region X play.
The following week, SWCC heads to North Carolina for:
- Johnson & Wales (mid-week doubleheader)
- Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute (weekend doubleheader)
- Surry CC and CCBC-Catonsville (JUCO Jamboree March 1st)
Region X Play Begins
Region X competition gets underway on March 8th with a four-game series against Cleveland Community College at Yeti Athletics Park.
The 2025 Region X schedule introduces a divisional format featuring Cleveland CC, Wake Tech CC, Louisburg College, and Catawba Valley CC. Each division team will compete in home-and-home four-game series, ensuring plenty of high-stakes matchups throughout the season.
Home Opener
The Flying Eagles return to Cedar Bluff for their home opener on March 19th when they host Genesee Community College for a doubleheader.
Their first home division series will follow shortly after:
- Cleveland Community College: March 5th-6th
Sophomore Day and Key Games
The season will culminate in a special Sophomore Day celebration on April 26th, honoring the contributions of the team’s graduating players. This event coincides with a critical home series against Catawba Valley CC.
