Game 1: Big Third Inning Pushes Louisburg Past SWCC
SWCC struggled to contain a massive third inning from Louisburg College in Friday’s series opener, falling 19–1 at home in Cedar Bluff.
Louisburg jumped out to an early lead with five runs in the first inning, taking advantage of an error and timely hits. Then came the third, where the Hurricanes exploded for 10 runs on 10 hits — including a two-run inside-the-park homer by Madison Hall and a two-run single from Mackenzie Smith.
Alex Steen was sharp in the circle for Louisburg, striking out 10 over five innings while allowing just three hits. Macie Adkins took the loss for SWCC, going 2.2 innings and striking out five.
Kimber Amos drove in SWCC’s lone run and was one of three players to record a hit, along with Adkins and Emma Wilcox. The Eagles also turned a double play defensively.
Game 2: SWCC Falls Behind Early in 15–4 Loss
In Friday’s second game, SWCC couldn’t recover from another fast start by Louisburg, dropping the contest 15–4.
Louisburg put runs on the board in each of the first three innings and used a balanced offensive effort to stay in control. Allison Moore got things started with an RBI double in the first, while Leigh Anna Carter brought in three total runs.
Emma Wilcox led the SWCC offense, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Amos and Kayllyn Vannoy also knocked in runs. On the mound, Wilcox pitched three innings and struck out four, while giving up eight runs (seven earned).
Louisburg stayed patient at the plate, drawing eight walks and stealing multiple bases. They turned a double play defensively to help keep momentum in their favor.
Game 3: Louisburg’s Late Surge Shuts Out SWCC
Saturday’s first game got away from SWCC late, as a seven-run fifth inning helped Louisburg cruise to a 13–0 win.
Madison Hall opened the scoring with another inside-the-park homer, and Louisburg kept the pressure on with small ball and aggressive base running. In the fifth, Hydee Kugler launched a three-run homer to center, and the Hurricanes tacked on four more runs to put the game out of reach.
Steen delivered another dominant performance in the circle, giving up just one hit and striking out 10. Macie Adkins went the distance for SWCC, allowing eight earned runs on 12 hits.
Emma Wilcox collected the lone hit for the Eagles, who couldn’t string anything together offensively against Steen.
Game 4: Louisburg Completes Sweep With 20–1 Win
Louisburg wrapped up the weekend with another dominant showing, beating SWCC 20–1 in Saturday’s finale.
A five-run first inning set the tone, with Reah Lee and Kassidy Mills each driving in two runs. Louisburg kept rolling, scoring in every inning — including a seven-run third and a five-run fifth highlighted by back-to-back inside-the-park homers from Mills and Reagan Bleichner, and a solo shot from Moore.
Alex Steen and Lani Pennica combined to allow just one hit and one run, while striking out five. Kimber Amos started for SWCC and struck out one over three innings.
Reagan McCoy had the only hit for SWCC, and Grace Harvey drove in the team’s lone run.
Louisburg’s offense stayed hot with 11 hits and 11 walks, and their defense remained rock-solid with zero errors.
