Louisburg College Dominates in 14-0 Win Over Southwest Virginia Community College
Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) struggled to keep up with a powerful Louisburg College team, falling 14-0 in Saturday’s matchup at Louisburg.
Louisburg wasted no time getting on the board in the bottom of the first. Mackenzie Smith hit a solo home run to center, followed by Madison Hall’s shot to the same spot, and Jillian Brunton’s single to left, each adding a run to a 3-0 lead.
The offense kept rolling in the second inning. Smith singled, tagged up on a flyout to score, and Reah Lee added a solo home run to right field to extend the lead.
The third inning was a blowout for Louisburg, as they scored seven runs off five hits, including a solo home run by Hydee Kugler and a two-run shot from Reagan Bleichner. Louisburg’s offensive dominance continued throughout the game.
Alex Steen pitched five dominant innings for Louisburg, allowing just two hits and no runs, striking out seven. Emma Wilcox took the loss for SWCC, giving up 13 runs (eight earned) on 11 hits in 2.2 innings.
The Flying Eagles couldn’t find much offense, with Miah Mead and Reagan McCoy each collecting one hit. Meanwhile, Louisburg’s offense was on fire with 12 hits, including three from Smith, who went 3-for-4. The team stole nine bases and played flawless defense without committing an error.
Louisburg College Smashes Through Early, Cruises to 27-0 Win Over Southwest Virginia Community College
Louisburg College put on an offensive clinic, defeating Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) 27-0 in Saturday’s game, fueled by a monstrous 15-run first inning.
It was a nightmare start for SWCC as Louisburg batted around in the first, with Madison Hall’s double, a two-run homer by Reece Pickett, and a grand slam by Kassidy Mills highlighting the inning. Louisburg piled on runs in almost every way imaginable, scoring 15 runs on eight hits and three Flying Eagles errors.
The floodgates didn’t close there. Louisburg added six more runs in the second inning, including a grand slam by Allison Moore, and continued to pile it on in the third and fourth innings.
Pickett earned the win for Louisburg, throwing two perfect innings with four strikeouts. SWCC’s Macie Adkins took the loss, allowing 14 runs (12 earned) on 11 hits in just 1.2 innings.
SWCC struggled to get anything going offensively, with Ciera Skeens accounting for their only hit of the game. In contrast, Louisburg had 17 hits, with Hall going 4-for-4 at the plate and Mills leading the team with six RBIs. Louisburg was also patient at the plate, drawing 11 walks and capitalizing on every opportunity.
Louisburg’s defense was sharp, with no errors and flawless fielding throughout the game.
Louisburg College Rolls to 28-1 Win Over Southwest Virginia Community College
Louisburg College showed no mercy, defeating Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) 28-1 on Sunday in a one-sided affair.
SWCC briefly took the lead in the first inning after a passed ball scored their only run. But Louisburg quickly flipped the script, putting up a nine-run rally in the bottom of the first. Reece Pickett’s three-run double was the highlight in an inning that featured five hits and multiple errors from the Flying Eagles.
The offense kept coming in the second, where Louisburg scored another seven runs, including a three-run homer by Allison Moore and a three-run triple by Madison Hall. By the third inning, the game was already out of reach as Louisburg extended their lead further.
Pickett earned the win for Louisburg, throwing two innings of no-hit ball and striking out four. Emma Wilcox took the loss for SWCC, surrendering 21 runs (18 earned) on 11 hits in just two innings.
SWCC managed just two hits, with Reagan McCoy and Erin Rasnake each getting one. Meanwhile, Louisburg was relentless, collecting 17 hits, including a 4-for-4 performance from Allison Moore. Kassidy Mills drove in seven RBIs, and Reece Pickett added two home runs and six RBIs.
Louisburg also showed their speed, stealing six bases, while their defense was flawless. The team didn’t commit a single error, and the pitchers dominated the strike zone.
Louisburg College Runs Away with 28-2 Win Over Southwest Virginia Community College
Louisburg College picked up right where they left off, defeating Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) 28-2 in Sunday’s game.
SWCC briefly had the lead in the first inning, scoring one run on a passed ball. But Louisburg quickly turned the tables with a nine-run rally in the bottom of the first. A three-run double by Pickett was the big blow in a huge inning for the home team.
The offense continued to surge in the second, with Louisburg adding seven more runs, including a grand slam by Allison Moore and a three-run triple from Madison Hall. By the third inning, Louisburg’s lead had ballooned even further.
Macie Adkins took the loss for SWCC, allowing 23 runs (15 earned) on 17 hits in just 2.1 innings. Meanwhile, Louisburg’s pitching staff, led by Reece Pickett, allowed just two hits and struck out 10 in another dominant performance.
The Flying Eagles managed just two hits, both by Reagan McCoy and Erin Rasnake, while Louisburg racked up 23 hits, with Moore leading the charge with four hits and Pickett hitting two home runs and driving in six RBIs. The offense was relentless, and their defense was perfect, turning a double play and stealing seven bases.
Louisburg’s speed, defense, and offensive firepower were on full display, and SWCC will look to regroup next Saturday as they head to Catawba Valley Community College. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM.
