Flying Eagles Compete in Two Events Over Weekend

The SWCC men's and women's cross country teams competed in back to back events over the weekend. On Friday, the Flying Eagles along with 11 other schools participated in the Roanoke XC Invitational in Salem, Va. 

Mitchell Campbell finished 35th overall in the men's 8K with a time of 30:26. The field had over 90 participants. Campbell's overall time equates to an average mile time of 6:07.

On Saturday, the team competed in the Smith River Invitational in Axton, Va., along with Central Carolina Community College and Bluefield College.

In a field of 21 participants, Mitchell Campbell placed fifth overall in the men's 8K with a time of 33:20. Skylar Vance finished 12th overall with a time of 40:47.

In the women's 6K, Morgan Lane finished 13th overall out of 17 runners. Lane finished with a time of 35:44.
