Greenway Named Region 10 Coach of the Year
On behalf of Flying Eagles Athletics, we would like to Congratulate Head Coach Bryan Greenway on being named the Region 10 Division 2 Coach of the Year. Greenway earned this award in his 3rd Season with The Flying Eagles, being the former assistant coach now head coach for the past 2 seasons. When asked what this award means to him, this is what Coach of the Year Bryan Greenway had to say. “I'd like to express how thankful I am to have this opportunity to serve as Head Golf Coach at Southwest Virginia Community College. I'm a highly competitive person with a lifelong passion for teaching others to become better golfers. So, coaching has seemingly been the perfect way to combine these two traits. I have truly been blessed by two outstanding assistant coaches this year. Collin Daniel and currently David Tayloe who this award is as much theirs as it is mine. I am again truly blessed with an incredible Athletic Department and School Administration that offers nothing but unbridled support and encouragement of not only myself but our golf program. I am also blessed by a great group of student/athletes that does everything asked of them in the classroom as well as on the golf course. It is because of their efforts and great playing that I'm receiving this award! (Thanks guys!) This is my first award as a coach and it has definitely been worth the wait to achieve this award at this level. Going forward when I see this award it will always remind me of the great people that surrounded me at the time that made this award possible.”
A few of Coach Greenways team members were asked about their experience learning from him, here is what they had to say:
Justice Dillard - “Coach Greenway was a great coach this year. He shows that he cares about our team and our results each and every practice. Not only does he push us to be better athletes, but he pushes us to be better students too.”
Paul Vencill IV – “Coach Greenway has not only benefited me as a golfer but as a person as well, I cannot think of a more deserving coach to receive this award”
