Jaden Lyles All Region Honorable Mention

Jaden Lyles All Region Honorable Mention

With his hard-fought effort and multiple 25+ point games, Jaden Lyles has earned placement on the All Region honorable mention team. Jaden had a career high of 42 points against Mountain Gateway Community College, which was the most points scored by any Flying Eagle this season. Jaden ended the season averaging 18.2 points per game, 3.0 points per game, and 1.8 assists per game. He also finished the season by shooting 62.9% from the field and 73.5% from the free throw line. Unfortunately, Jaden would suffer a hamstring injury halfway through the season, which would see his minutes shorten and many games missed. Prior to injury, Jaden had incredible performances, with a stat line of 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists against Lenoir Community College and scoring 36 points against Johnston Community College, where he went 85.7% from the field and 92.3% from the free throw line. When asked about his freshman guard, this is what first-year head coach David Mulins had to say. "Jaden had an incredible start to conference play, leading the conference in points per game at the time of his hamstring injury at over 20 ppg. The fact that he was able to earn All Region (honors) while only being able to compete in half of our conference games due to injury speaks of the impact he had in the games he did play. The other coaches in the reagion who voted on these awards certainly took notice".
