December's Featured Male Athlete BJ Fofana Jr.

Our featured athlete for men's basketball is #24, BJ Fofana, Jr. BJ posted the team's first double-double of the season against UPIKE JV on November 28th, when he went for 10 points and 11 rebounds. BJ comes to SWCC from Potomac High School, just outside of the Washington, D.C., area in Dumfries, VA. "BJ has been working incredibly hard since the day he arrived," said Coach Mullins. One thing that is interesting about BJ is how new the game still is for him. He didn't come out for basketball until his senior year of high school and made an immediate impact for the team. I have enjoyed watching BJ's continuous improvement. His athleticism gives him an incredibly high ceiling, and he seems intent on making sure he does all he can to maximize that potential." That athleticism has already been on display, as BJ has made some highlight-worthy dunks and blocks in the season thus far, playing well above the rim. "BJ is a tremendous rim protector, rebounder, and finisher. If he stays healthy and continues to put in the work, he can really add another dimension to our team," added Mullins.
