SWCC Baseball Ready to Launch 2025 Season with High Hopes and Fresh Talent

Cedar Bluff, Va – SWCC Baseball is gearing up to throw the first pitch of its 2025 season under the guidance of Head Coach Steven McMillian, now entering his second season at the helm. Coach McMillian has crafted a robust schedule for the team, aiming to foster growth and development. The Flying Eagles have an impressive 64 contests slated for the spring, offering fans ample opportunities to watch the team in action.
Opening on the Road
The Flying Eagles will kick off their season on January 24 with a four-game series at Chattanooga State Community College. This series begins a stretch of 16 road games over the first three weeks of the season. The schedule for the early road games is as follows:
- Jan. 31/Feb. 1 – at USC Union
- Feb. 7/8 – at Gadsden State Community College
- Feb. 11 – at Roane State Community College
Home Opener
SWCC will play its first home game on February 12, hosting BCA in a single matchup with the first pitch scheduled for 1:00 PM.
The first Region X West Divisional series is set for March 1 and 2, as Wake Tech Community College comes to Cedar Bluff.
Region X Play
The 2025 Region X schedule will feature a divisional format that includes Patrick & Henry Community College, Louisburg College, Cleveland Community College, Wake Tech Community College, Catawba Valley Community College, and Guilford Technical Community College. Each divisional opponent will face SWCC in a home-and-home three-game series, promising thrilling and competitive matchups throughout the season.

“I’m excited to get the season started after bringing in 32 new guys to build our roster. Leading the way on the mound will be Brayden Dilday and local standout Dagan Barton, with key arms like Peyton Dodson and Kian Manske also in the mix. Freshmen like Damien Boyd, Harrison Felger, Parker Bradley, and Graham Irvin will add stability to our hitting lineup.
“Some key returners include Cason McInnis, Gabe Cuellar, Colt Tate, Logan Williams, and John Ruhl. Our biggest challenge will be finding consistency in pitching, but we’re looking to key contributors like Max McGlothlin, Ayden Mullikin, and Ronnie Hall to step up.
