Five In Double Figures As Flying Eagles Top Patrick & Henry 91-77
CEDAR BLUFF, Va. — The Flying Eagles men's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack - five players scored in double figures - and put together a solid performance on both ends of the floor in a 91-77 win over Patrick & Henry Community College on Wednesday night at the King Community Center.
With the win, the Flying Eagles (9-6, 4-5) have swept the season series against Patrick & Henry (4-8, 4-5).
The first eight minutes of the game included multiple lead changes, with each team trading buckets. Southwest would eventually take a 19-18 lead with just under 12 minutes left in the first half and would never relinquish the lead for the remainder of the game. Southwest led 45-32 at halftime. Patrick & Henry cut Southwest's lead to 49-44 just minutes into the second half. However, that was as close as the Patriots would get as the Flying Eagles eventually led by as many as 21 with under four minutes to play.
Newcomer, Jordin Webb, playing in just his third game of the season scored 18 points off the bench. Webb scored all of his points from three, shooting 6-of-8 (75 percent) from behind the arc. Brennan Howard also shot it well from the floor, leading the team with 19 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Braeden Crews added 14 points on 6-of-13 shooting.
Ioannis Giannoultsis had a double-double, with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists.

- The Flying Eagles's balanced scoring attack started early as four of the first five Southwest baskets were scored by different players.
- A Bowden Lyon alley-oop from Jordin Webb sparked a 12-2 run for Southwest midway through the first half.
- Giannoultsis recorded his seventh double-double of the season.
- Southwest's 91 points scored are tied for its fewest scored in a win this season (Scored 91 in a win over Catawba Valley).
